Village of Cochran’s Crossing

This expansive, established village is the home of The Woodlands Country Club and the 27-hole Palmer golf course. Exemplary schools, several large parks, and a village shopping center make Cochran’s Crossing a very centralized and convenient location for family living. Cochran’s Crossing was founded in 1983 and named after the Cochran family in Montgomery County that once co-owned the Grogan-Cochran Lumber Company and much of the timbering land that became The Woodlands.

• Parks – Bear Branch Park is the home of The Woodlands Recreation Center and also features a barrier-free playground and “bark park”. Shadowbend Park also includes a swimming pool, playgrounds and playfields.

• Schools – The Conroe ISD schools in Cochran’s Crossing include Galatas, David and Powell Elementary schools (both grades K-4), Collins Intermediate School (grades 5 & 6) and The Woodlands High School (grades 10-12). Several large pre-schools and child care centers are found within Cochran’s Crossing.

• Shopping – Cochran’s Crossing Village Center features a Kroger Signature store, CVS Drug Store, Skeeter’s and Alamo Joe’s restaurants, plus professional offices, neighborhood services, banks, shops and fast food eateries.

• Recreation – The warm, comfortable Craftsman-style Palmer Clubhouse, home of The Woodlands Country Club, is located on Grand Fairway Drive in Cochran’s Crossing. For more information, visit www.thewoodlandscc.com.  Nature enthusiasts and students of nature will appreciate the Shadowlake Marsh Experience in Cochran’s Crossing, located across Lake Woodlands Drive from Shadowbend Park. The original YMCA branch in The Woodlands is located on Shadowbend Place.
